Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Meu Presidente app, as well as your rights and how the law (including Brazil's General Data Protection Law — LGPD, Law No. 13.709/2018) protects you.

Meu Presidente is an informational app about candidates for the Presidency of Brazil in 2026. Unlike some of our other apps, Meu Presidente collects usage data linked to your account or to an anonymous identifier, as detailed below. Collection begins only after you accept this policy on first use.

Notice: Independent, Non-Governmental App

Meu Presidente is an independent, informational, and non-partisan app. It is NOT affiliated with, authorized, endorsed, or operated by the Government of Brazil, the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), or any public body, political party, or candidate, and it does not represent a governmental entity nor provide official public services. The governmental information shown in the app is gathered from official public sources — listed in the "Official Sources of the Information" section below — and you should always check the original source.

Data We Collect

After your acceptance, we collect and store the following data, always linked to your login account (Google or Apple) or, if you do not log in, to an automatically generated anonymous identifier:

  • In-app activity: the candidates you view and for how long, the comparisons you make between candidates, your completion of the quiz ("Simulate Your Vote") and your answers, and the candidates you favorite.

  • Preferences and progress: your favorites and in-app options/settings.

  • Consent record: confirmation that you accepted this policy and the date/time of acceptance.

  • Account identifiers: your session's unique identifier (UID) and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the name and profile picture provided by those providers.

  • Technical data and approximate location: when you use the app, Google Firebase services (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) automatically access and process your IP address, from which an approximate location may be derived (for example, country, state, or city). This occurs as a normal part of connecting to those services. We do not collect precise location or GPS data — the app does not request your device's location permission.

We do not intentionally request or collect sensitive data (such as party affiliation, declared political opinion, biometrics, or documents). Your quiz answers are used to calculate your compatibility within the app and for research purposes, as described below.

How We Use the Data

We use the data to: operate and improve the app; remember your preferences; and for academic and, possibly, commercial purposes (for example, aggregate studies about usage behavior and voter interest). The legal basis for this processing is your consent, given on first use, and the legitimate interest in the app's functioning.

The approximate location derived from the IP address is used only for the operation and security of the Service (for example, connecting to the servers, fraud and abuse prevention) by the infrastructure providers. We do not use your location for targeted advertising nor to track your movements.

Where We Store and With Whom We Share

The data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), which acts as a data processor on our behalf. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (automatic anonymous sign-in and, optionally, Google or Apple).

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties, except with the infrastructure providers above, to the extent necessary to operate the Service, or when required by law. Any academic or commercial research results are disclosed only in aggregated and anonymized form, without identifying you individually.

Your Rights and Control

You control your data directly in the app, on the Profile screen:

  • Delete my data: erases your usage data (views, comparisons, quiz, favorites, and options), keeping your account.

  • Delete my account: erases your data along with your authentication account.

Under the LGPD, you may also request access to, correction, portability, or deletion of your data, as well as withdraw consent, by contacting us (see "Contact Us").
